PNoy's 2nd State of the Nation Address (SONA)

The President's SONA is one of the awaited days of children and tweens that go to school. Not because of the President's speech but because, they wouldn't have classes. Classes would be cancelled because of the militant protesters that are expected to flood the streets of Manila and Commonwealth in Quezon City. Of course, there are those groups that would make a big effigy of the President and burn it while he's giving his speech.

A sad reality but this happens every year. The school children don't even give a crap to what PNoy would say. They're just happy there's no classes. I think I now feel the same too.

I've been patient with the government. It's true that success can't be achieved overnight. I've had high hopes with the current administration but with how things are going, I think I need more patience.

Some of the news that we usually hear are better employment and living conditions of OFWs, better and improved compensation, housing, and weaponry of the low-ranking AFP solidiers, increased land allocation and subsidy to farmers, and the eradication of corrupt public officials. I hope PNoy's SONA would reflect what other people don't hear in the news and are highly publicized.

I also hope that in the coming years, he'll be more proactive, imposing, and authoritative. Let's just wait and see what he has to report to us.

The Lake House

Just finished watching The Lake House.

The beginning was good, the middle part was dragging, how the ending turned out was unexpected. Yeah, I expected them to meet each other towards the end but what made me not to leave my eyes of was when Kate (Sandra Bullock) figured out that Alex (Keanu Reeves) was the guy who got hit by a bus on Valentine's day of 2006. Her rushing to the lake house and dropping a letter asking Alex to wait 2 more years was just, "Aaarrgggh! I hope he sees it before he goes to find her."

Am having a romance/romatic-comedy movie marathon for the days to come. Hopefully I get to write more here.
